Well, old man winter hasn't decided to leave Utah yet, so this project was a little more difficult for me. Thankfully my creative wife suggested I go up in the canyons and take some pictures of the spring runoff. There is still a ton of snow right now, but I was able to hike in a little, knee deep in snow and find a great little spot. I am not totally pleased with the results, but I decided this time I would play around on the fully manual mode.I had a hard time finding a nice balance with the ISO, shutter speed and exposure, but I ended up taking some decent shots. I even managed to get the blurry water effect I was going for. I should have zoomed out more in the shots so that more of the river was visible, but all and all I am pretty happy with them. I considered hiking across the river on this log to see what was upstream a bit, but decided it was better if I drove home in dry clothes. Needless to say I am even more ready for spring to arrive, but it was a nice time to get out and enjoy nature for a bit.

Well that is what spring is all about the run off. We know it will be cold but will it run too high as it gets too warm too fast or will it just be high and stay within the banks? Good shots of the the starting areas wonder if we could find some higher run off yet or if that is a few weeks away still.
Snow up in the canyons yesterday - how about the snow we woke upto this morning in the valley?! To think, yesterday I almost decided to cut my lawn the for the first time this year.
Nice pictures Brady. I really like the water in the stream with the snow "framing" in the picture.
I really liked the shot of the log and the one that you used as the as the "post header".
To be honest, getting a decent exposure with that much snow during the day is really tough to do. Very nice work.
Also, the snow you get makes me jealous.
